Real Estate, Politics or a little of BOTH
A couple months ago the Empire State Building's owner received a request to light up the building in honor of Mother Theresa. He declined. He believed that lighting up the building during the holidays was enough and honoring one public figure would only open the gates for later requests. No was no and that was the end of that, or so we thought. Now here we are months later, the Empire State Building's owner is trying prevent the approval of a competitive skyscraper from being built near his monumental building. Who has say on the approval? The very same people who also asked for the building lighting celebration. Yes, real estate development is good but is this Real Estate or Politics.
